Ellen is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) with more than twenty years of experience, both internationally and across Canada, in finance and accounting with a focus in real estate and asset management. 

Prior to joining Barney River, Ellen held a variety of roles, including Director, Property Management & Reporting of residential portfolio, Financial Reporting, Accounting & Administration, and Senior Manager (Internal Audit). 

Ellen has a Post Baccalaureate in Accounting from the University of Waterloo and also holds the US CPA designation with the state of Illinois.

She is an active volunteer and has been on the Board of Directors for St. John Ambulance since 2005 and recently joined the Advisory Council for Trillium Health Partners, after serving as part of their Volunteers Partners Board since 2012.
